During a time of tremendous work and stress, Avail was a lifeline for us. Shifting our entire business to work from home at the beginning of the pandemic was an incredible challenge. We couldn’t do it all, and we were so grateful for Avail’s expertise in many areas. The resources and experience they have internally allowed them to propose the ideal solutions and partners for us to act quickly, and we couldn’t be happier with the result. Avail not only lowered our costs, but more importantly to me, saved our team valuable time, allowing us to focus on other critical projects

Challenge

Like every company at the start of 2020, the sudden global pandemic forced them to pivot abruptly from an office-centric environment to entirely work from home.  Almost immediately, Sequoyah became painfully aware of the deficiencies of their legacy phone system; They were presented with new challenges to ensure their employees were able to collaborate effectively and securely in the new remote landscape. Compounding the problem, Sequoyah had to address incumbent vendors, plagued by service quality, reliability and scalability issues.

Approach

Avail understood the technology issues as well as the business challenges, and recommended Sequoyah move services to the cloud.  We worked with the leadership team to develop a strategy to meet the communications and collaboration needs of their now distributed workforce. We developed a customized cloud solution which leveraged existing Microsoft Licensing, utilized Microsoft Teams, reducing training burden and time, and eliminated unnecessary desktop hardware. In the process, all legacy, on-premises equipment (the old PBX) was eliminated. Using the Avail Market Intelligence Assessment process, we performed a multi-vendor analysis to identify the ideal partner for Sequoyah’s future, bringing a qualified field of 36 providers and presenting the best two.
